What area does the Gatwick Diamond cover?
Briefly, if your business postcode is an RH postcode then you are likely to be in the Gatwick Diamond and eligible to enter. The area extends from Redhill and Reigate to the South Coast, from Horsham in the West to Haywards Heath in the East, taking in all the major towns in the area. Visit www.gatwickdiamond.co.uk to find out more about the sub-region, but please contact us if you would like to check your eligibility to enter.
Who can enter an award?
Any business that operates or does business within the Gatwick Diamond.
What does winning an award mean?
It means that you are the best! Winning an award will bring you kudos within your market and within the business community. However, winning isn't everything as we often find that those who enter awards have carried work to examine key processes within the business and so improved those processes.
If entered for an award do we have to book a table?
No, but you can. One ticket will be given to each of the three finalists in each category and a very limited number of tickets have been held back for those who have been nominated to bring colleagues to the Dinner. But book early as these will sell out very quickly.
Who can be nominated for an award?
The nominee can be a person, a place, a department, a campaign, a business or an organisation - it all depends on the category that captures your interest.
What category should we enter?
Choose a category that your business has excelled at or contributed to. It should reflect the main nature of your business.
How will the awards be decided?
They will be judged impartially by the sponsor and representatives from Cadia's Executive Council.
When will judging take place?
The closing date for entries was 7th December 2009. Judging will take place in December and early January. The 6 semi-finalists will be visited in January and early February and the three finalists will be put forward for the Awards Dinner on the March 4th 2010, when the winner will be announced.
Will the winners know in advance of the evening?
No, but the three finalists for each award will be announced in advance of the Dinner.
What is the cost of attending the dinner and how is it payable?
The cost is £75 (+Vat) per head or £750 (+Vat) for a table of ten for attending the Awards Dinner. This is payable by cheque or BACS in advance.
What is included with the table bookings?
Pre-dinner drinks, three-course meal, the award presentations with guest speaker.
How are you going to minimise the environmental impact of the awards process and the dinner?
We will be calculating the carbon generated by the process and the Awards Dinner and will be offsetting that carbon through a regulated scheme.
How can we sponsor an award next time?
This year's sponsors will have first refusal on the next year's sponsorship opportunities, but please contact jeremy@gatwickdiamondbusinessawards.com to be involved next year.
